Spring Fragrances - by Trish Wallace

Posted by Trish Wallace on

Spring is finally here! Which means it’s time to put away our deep, musky fragrances and break out our lighter, fresher, floral scents. This year it is all about the rose. From Chanel to Juicy Couture, between the catwalk and the fragrance counters; roses are at the top of the list for 2016!

Favourites this season include Dolce & Gabbana’s brand new, limited edition Dolce Rosa Excelsa and Juicy Couture’s latest fragrance Viva La Juicy Rose.

Dolce & Gabbana introduced Dolce Rosa Excelsa early in February and it kick-started the rose scented trend. This fragrance explores new sensations and features notes of attractive papaya blossom, passionate amaryllis and delicate white flowers all wrapped up in the scent of superior African Dog rose. Dolce Rosa Excelsa also has added base notes of musk, cashmere woods and sandalwood for just the perfect balance between floral and earthy. Dolce Rosa Excelsa is the ultimate in sensual femininity and the exterior matches perfectly with a beautiful red rose lid and frosted glass bottle. A 30ml bottle retails at €62.00 and the 50ml at €83.50.

Our next pick is Juicy Couture’s Viva La Juicy Rose. The packaging alone on this fragrance is out of this world! The bottle is classic Juicy Couture with it’s iconic crown emblem, beautiful bright pink bow and safety pin charm but this time the glass is coated in gorgeous pink and gold glitter. It really is one which deserves pride of place on your dresser. The fragrance itself is every bit as pretty and feminine as the bottle, with top notes of mandarin, jasmine and pear, undertones of peony rose and delicate hints of orris, balsam and ambroxan. The 30ml bottle costs €47.00 and the 50ml retails at €63.00
