Autumn/Winter 2015 Fragrance Favourites - Part 2

Posted by Ann McNelis on

With the cold, dark rainy and windy evenings many of us think of changing our fragrance from those sweet, fruity fragrances of summer to a scent that’s warm, woody and comforting or channel some positivity with a floral or citrus scent to help lift your spirits. In this article, I have compiled my top fragrance picks for Autumn/Winter 2015 for both ladies and men’s fragrances. This is a continuation of my article last week.

Victor and Rolf Flowerbomb® (ladies)

This insanely popular perfume is the love child of not one, but three perfumers. Carlos Benaim, Domitille Berthier and the one and only Olivier Polge. For those of you who don’t know who Olivier Polge is, he has very recently taken the place of his father Henry Polge as top perfumer in the House of Chanel and the mastermind behind Chanel’s newest member of the Chance family, Chanel Chance Eau Vive. Flowerbomb is an explosive fragrance which was introduced at the House of Victor and Rolf’s 10th Anniversary back in 2004 and has remained as popular now as it was back then. This fragrance packs in an explosive bouquet of fresh and sweet notes. The top notes tingle with fresh and sweet accords of bergamot and green tea, while the heart notes are floral and opulent with intensive sweet and pure sambac jasmine, seductive centifolia rose, freesia and catleya orchid. Musk and patchouli in the base notes wrap up this oriental floral fragrance, making it a perfect Autumn/Winter fragrance.

Victor and Rolf Spicebomb® (men)

As Flowerbomb was such a hit among the ladies, Olivier Polge came back in 2012 to drop another “bomb” on us, in the form of Victor and Rolf Spicebomb for men. After the success of its female fragrance, it was of course only fair to deliver us with a male version to satisfy the boys. This fragrance definitely packs in a punch with its spicy, woody notes. Top notes of citrus bergamia, grapefruit, elemi resin and pink peppercorn create the explosive accord while a fiery combination of chilli, saffron, leather, tobacco and vetivier offers its unique spicy aroma. It truly is as unique and masculine as its packaging might suggest, given that the bottle designer Fabien Baron created a glass shaped hand grenade.
