The Foot Clinic at Whelehans Pharmacy are now offering a new state of the art nail reconstruction treatment.
What is our Nail Reconstruction Treatment?
Our nail reconstruction treatment allows us to build and create a natural looking temporary nail onto an area that may have prior damage or disfiguration. We work with the natural nail or damaged nail to create a natural looking temporary nail for aesthetic purposes. This can be used in conjunction with other nail products such as nail polish, shellac or gel based products.
The nail reconstruction can last up to 8 weeks however, this can differ from patient to patient depending on the natural growth process. We create a very natural looking temporary nail that is ideal for patients who may have damaged nails and are looking for a seamless nail for events such as weddings, family events and Summer Holidays.
Am I eligible for this treatment?
The nail reconstruction treatment is ideal for patients who may have a trauma to the nail or a lack of nail across the nail bed. For the treatment to be successful it is recommended that patients have some part of the natural nail available to work with as this gives the reconstructed nail something to attach to and last longer.
How long will my reconstructed nail last?
Depending on your own nail growth, the reconstructed nail can last from 4 to 8 weeks and in some cases even longer.
How long does it take to get the treatment?
The nail reconstruction treatment can take up to 45 minutes depending on the patient. The appointment is usually an hour but may not take the full amount of time.
How much does the treatment cost?
All nail reconstructive treatments require a consultation that allows the foot clinic to test your eligibility for treatment. The consultation is €25 and can be booked in advanced at Whelehans Pharmacy. The cost for reconstructive treatment is from €45 per nail.
