Prepare your skin for winter - top tips on how to protect your skin from winter damage

Posted by Eamonn Brady on

Now that autumn is here and sadly winter just around the corner, we must think ahead about how to look after our skin and prevent problems arising. As the seasons change, so do the needs of our skin.  Prevention is the key word.

Now is the time to treat and nourish your skin by using a good serum and a face mask at least every two weeks.  Elizabeth Arden have re-launched their famous ceramide capsules.  The new ‘Advanced Ceramide Capsules’ with advanced technology delivers an enhanced complex of skin-identical ceramides that supports natural lipid levels.

Ceramide is naturally produced in our skin, but as we get older the natural production slows down leaving our skin with more wrinkles, creases and sagginess. It is vital we replenish this ceramide to keep our skin looking young and fresh. We recommend that you use the capsules at least twice weekly to get the full benefit.

A good face mask is a must to prevent winter damage to the skin.  A good mask to use for most skin types is the Elizabeth Arden ‘Visible Difference’ Hydration Boost Night Mask. This mask should be used every two weeks for optimum results. The mask should be left on for 5 – 10 minutes and then simply rinse or tissue off. Your skin will be thirst quenched and baby soft.

These two simple steps in skin care will prepare your skin well before winter and help prevent excessive dryness and chapping.
